Bohol Travel: You Should NOT VISIT The Gabriella Bed and Breakfast if....

Posted on 07:16 by Unknown
......you ARE messy and you're NOT HAPPY staying in a beautiful place. In short, The Gabriella is for quiet and neat and decent people.

Two Things:

1. The Gabriella is the place to stay if you want to avoid insensitive and noisy tourist crowd. In fact, it is safe to say that The Gabriella Bed and Breakfast is the cleanest and unpretentiously classy place nga among na higdaan/nakit-an among the other three hotels we screened in Tagbilaran. Gabriella is better than Bohol Beach Club even, in terms of cleanliness, coziness and customer service. Bohol Beach Club’s ace is just its beach. Also, you can find cute fluffy white-haired bitches there barking at you, so Beach Club is fun, too.

BBC rooms cost from Php6000-Php8000, which I think should be now illegal considering the depravity and global calamities our world suffers. And they’ve got so much land that you can’t help but think, Why aren’t we letting the people who have no homes stay here and provide them jobs that benefit both the owners of BBC and their families? Although the Lechon Kawali and Chilli Chicken servings in BBC are the biggest I’ve had in a while. But that still doesn’t make the BBC owners’ lack of social creativity/responsibility tolerable.

2.  Gabriella is where Vice Ganda, Christine Reyes, Angelica Panganiban and Vhong Navarro apparently stayed, which doesn’t automatically say that these refer to the famous local celebs who own these names. Do a Facebook search and you get at least 20 matches to your own name. But what I want to say is: I urge anyone who consider themselves influential to find a way to help stranded travelers from Tagbilaran who can’t afford decent lodging and food when their catamarans aren’t allowed voyage to Cebu City because of typhoons like Quinta.

I propose the Tagbilaran Pier authority, sponsored by concerned individuals, provide food stubs and tents to these travelers and let them sleep in the wide stretch parking lot in the pier that seemed unoccupied and unused. So much cemented land, and yet of no use. It’s likely that this is like the case of the famous Mandaue lampposts. Let’s make use of this, people who think we still have a chance to be better. Anyone named Vice Ganda, Christine Reyes and Vhong Navarro here who can help them/us?

032 (ZeroThreeTwo) Things You Can Do With A Krispy Kreme Cap

Posted on 06:15 by Unknown

This is a rejected ZeroThreeTwo Article. Here's Carlo of ZeroThreeTwo's rejection message:

Hi Richard!
Haha Thanks for the entertaining write up. Unfortunately, we won't be able to use this because it has to be a "Cebu-centric" article. Maybe you have other topics in mind that touches on Cebu?

  1. Photoframe - Why buy one when you can make it for free? But there’s no such thing as free lunch so it is politically not.
  2. Cap - Obviously.
  3. Pen holder - Pencil case is expensive and made of plastic, so bad for the environment. Make your own please because aren't you awesome?
  4. Pencil case - see photo
  5. Cellphone case - you wanna hide your phone while in the beach? Put it in the cap and leave it on the sand. Safe.
  6. Notebook - write on the blank areas of the cap and make a unique love letter you send to your ex!
  7. Cut out the letters and use them in greeting cards - You have letters from KRISPY KREME, so you only need letters I,L, O, V, E, Y, O, U, A, N, N, and A.
  8. Bookmarks - see photo
  9. Remote Control Holder - put it inside the cap and hide it from your kids who always hide the remote from you because they’re cute mean kids from Michael Haneke’s The White Ribbon film.
  10. Bills holder - make your depressing bills fun to read by hiding them in this cap.
  11. Cellphone case - need to hide your phone from your boyfriend? Hide it here.
  12. Money hideout - see photo
  13. Paper airplanes - yup, don’t waste new paper by making paper airplanes you throw away. Use the cap paper instead and for sure you won’t throw them away because it’s cute.
  14. Fan  - Going to church? Don’t sweat. Fold the hat fifteen times and fan yourself free.
  15. Organizer for important letters - put all your important data here and hide them from purloining adults. New word: purloin. Look it up so you get smarter. Cebuanos should be smarter.
  16. Secret Love Letter Envelope - worried that the father of the girl you’re courting would ruin your wedding proposal? Hide your letter inside the cap and give it to your girl.
  17. More stuff you can do. Contact us so we can teach you how to do these: Table balancer
  18. Id holder

5 Things About Everything That A Bisaya Learned From Stealing Tim Kreider's We Learn Nothing

Posted on 16:58 by Unknown

This drawing is from Tim Kreider. I don't think I have permission to upload this. But I'm allowed to post his book cover in Amazon. Where can I read the answer to convince me that I should take this down?

1. We learn nothing.

2. We learn everything, but only a part of it. Okay that doesn't sound right. I don't think I agree with Kreider's thoughts on how we should just sever ties with people who are mentally sick or who drag us down and abuse our kindness to smut. But I don't think I have a good reason for my disagreement, other than denial.

3. We are like cats; we shun people who show their affection, we crawl towards them when it is deprived of us. Kreider had a line about our appreciation of life only when we're in the middle of a jungle and we're holding honey and a horde (or school? Bears like fish. Ergo, they ARE fish.) of bears lunge towards us.This is true, but I love bears, and if there's death, then I should just share it with them. I'm kidding, but not that part.

4. We Cebuanos should read his book because it mentions David Foster Wallace and James Salter, the two writers you should know more about because you're probably religious and you're probably so smart, you think Ferdinand Marcos is cool and that we should always ignore the street kids and we should always bullshit our friends with our brilliant lies.

5. We should believe in peak oil. That's right, bay. Mahurot ang oil gipanggamit for your Hummer and more genius cars. Tough shit, right? Now deal with it. If you're the genius kind, buy more iPhones and iPads and forget about other poor people's plight and enjoy life now, and who cares about the immorality of buying iPads professionally made by 8-year old kids when you know God is with you? God is with me God is with me God is with me. Me. Me. Me.

What Cebu City Can Learn From Barack Obama’s Recent Win: A Message From A Philippine Politician

Posted on 09:03 by Unknown
by Senator T2 Saw2

So now that Barack Obama is re-elected, I, Senator Teetoa Sewtwo, your devoted God’s-gift-to-the-city public service person, (not servant, because I’m rich so being a servant is ewww to me) I, the Saviour of The City, should remind you of the things our city of Cebu should continue doing in order to be like the United States we all love. As in, love, like how Imelda Marcos loves her shoes.

1. Enjoy Yourself and Buy More Gadgets You Don’t Need and Want
Why would you buy an iPod touch that already has all the features you need when an iPhone is a better symbol of your being a social climber? Who cares if your mother didn’t eat three meals a day abroad just to buy and save you that stupid gadget in time for your 3rd 2-month long birthday party, right? Yes, having a smartphone makes you smarter, but don’t worry. You don’t have to be smart to own a smartphone.

2. Forget the children in the streets.
Remember the 7-year-old children you passed by sa CCMC, nga nanigarilyo? He's/She's/It's not you, so why would you care? Don’t worry about him/her/it, though. They're not your problem, right? They better die, right? They're trash, right? They're better off dead, right? You shouldn't help them kay manganad lang nya no, right? As in, di na niya sila mu-work kay magsalig niya nimo, right? And ayawg tuo when your stupid dumb idiotic and super bogo bogo way kwenta boang friend tell you nga, "Sure jud ka nga magsalig sila nimo? Sure ka nga nag tinapulan rana sila maong naghigda nana sila sa dan? What is your mathematical differential-calculus-derived proof? Do you have the receipts!? Show me the receipts! Sure ka dili na tungod sa pagka hangol sa mga politiko? Sure ka dili na tungod....nimo nimo nimo nimo. Nimo. Nimo....? ?

? ? ? ? ?

Besides, where would we the God-given politicians get the taxes from charities if we no longer have the street children to “charitize” from? How would our wives look generous and egalitarian to all their society friends and amigas and Gods if they have no destitute children to derive their generousness appearance from?

3. Do not read books for leisure. All you need to learn since kindergarten is in the Bible.
Really, don’t. Not even Fifty Shades of Grey, much less the books the characters in the Fifty Shades of Grey read. What do you need books for when books are making you smart? Why read those when the Bible is more than enough to make you stupid? Smartness is for losers and for people to get better jobs and better skills and awesome opportunities. It's better to be stupid but God-fearing and religious and unemployed and ultra-illiterate.

4. Tell people they’re stupid and chaka.
Always do this because it hides your insecurity briliiantly, like how a gay man hides from her self. Dismiss everyone you dislike as chaka/batig nawng/murag maid/bayot/maya/faggot because this is the right thing to do in your opinion and this is democratic and nothing’s stopping you from doing cute stuff that elevates your almost insatiable ego. You're free to be stupid and mean, so why would you change? If you’re a teacher, tell your students they’re probably not going to succeed. Saying this challenges them to try harder and makes them better people who later on will tell and inspire children to work harder and succeed. If these children get to be politicians like me, then let’s thank the teachers for inspiring them.

5. You only live once, so have fun with your short finite life.
Drive your motorbike drunk and while texting with no helmet and, heck, no pants on, just for the thrill. Ride your motorbike while doing jumping jacks. Turn your radio on full-volume and annoy your neighbors. Be in the middle of two "friendships". If you have earphones, listen to music until you hear nothing. Hear nothing good from your friends by always being negative about their good intentions. There are no good intentions. People are after you. Cheat or be cheated. There is no good, so just be ahead.

Summer Movie Review: Magic Mike

Posted on 09:50 by Unknown
This past weekend I also saw Magic Mike. Magic Mike is the story of a male stripper named Mike, or at the strip club, Magic Mike (Channing Tatum). Mike is happy stripping, or so he thought. The club he dances at is run by a man named Dallas (Matthew McConaughey). Mike manages to get a 19-year old Adam (Alex Pettyfer) off of his sister's couch by getting him a job at the club. Things start to go downhill for Mike at this club though. Adam makes a deal with the house's DJ, who moonlights as a drug dealer, to give ecstasy to the different girls he meets. This gets Adam in a lot of trouble because he loses the pills and ends up owing the DJ ten thousand dollars. Mike, being the man he is, gives the DJ the ten thousand dollars he had been saving up to start a business, because he knows Adam doesn't have the money. Throughout this, Mike ends up falling for Adam's sister, Brooke (Cody Horn). After getting screwed out of a deal he had made with Dallas to make 10% equity off of the new male strip club they were opening in Miami, Mike quits his job as a male stripper, and stays in Tampa. He and Brooke end up going out by the end of the movie.

Magic Mike was a good movie. My friend said she didin't like it that much, but I thought the story line was good and Channing Tatum's dancing was extremely impressive. The movie was funny and a little bit cheesy, but I can overlook that. I would give Magic Mike a nine out of ten stars. I woud Channing Tatum a ten out of ten stars though. I should also mention some of the acting in this movie isn't as great I thought it would be (ahem, Cody Horn). However, I think this movie is rather good and I would definitely go see it again. Magic Mike is now in theatres.

Summer Movie Review: The Amazing Spider-Man

Posted on 09:29 by Unknown
I was in Kansas City this last weekend and got the chance to see The Amazing Spider-Man starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker (aka Spider-Man), Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors, Denis Leary as Gwen Stacy's father and police chief of New York City, Martin Sheen as Peter Parker's guardian, Uncle Ben, and Sally Field as Peter Parker's other guardian, Aunt May. This movie was basically a chronicling of Peter Parker's early life and his beginnings as Spider-Man. When Peter was a little boy, he discovered his father's office in their house was robbed. Upon this, Peter's mother and father took him to live at his aunt and uncle's house. When his parents never returned or even called, Peter wondered what his aunt and uncle were keeping from him. He discovers his father's old file in the basement of his aunt and uncle's, and begins to investigate. In it, was a formula Peter's father and Dr. Curt Connors were working on together. Peter decides to google his father and when he does, he discovers that his mother and father were killed in a plane crash.

Peter gets picked on at school and usually comes home a little beaten up, but one night, Peter comes home later than usual. His Uncle Ben lays into him. Peter then runs away just to get oput of the house for some time. His Uncle Ben comes to look for him when, out of nowhere, a man shoots him. Peter is devastated and is dteremined to find the man who did it. Later, Peter meets the mad scientist amputee, Dr. Curt Connors, who is working to develop a medicine that can regrow limbs, and ultimatley he would like to see a world "without weakness" as he puts it. Peter comes up with the formula to regrow limbs. It is tested on the lab rats and works, or so it seems. Dr. Connors is rushed to try to the medicine on humans, so he tries it on himself. He is elated by how well it works, but then, his newly-grown limb starts to mutate into something of a lizard and then his whole body turns into this lizard. Peter Parker has also been bitten by a radioactive spider a couple scenes early and learns to harnass his powers, and creates the famous gel that shoots webs from his hands. Gwen Stacy is caught in the middle as being the first person to know about Peter Parker's newfound identity. Her father, however, is less approving. Captain Stacy comes to find that Peter Parker is Spider-Man and sees that what he is trying to do is help rid the city of New York from evil. Captain Stacy helps Spider-Man take down the Lizard/Dr. Connors. In this venture, Captain Stacy ends up dying, which Peter knows is one of Gwen's biggest fears. Captain Stacy asks Peter to basically stop seeing Gwen, so as to keep her from harm. Because of his respect for Gwen's father, Peter promises. Gwen is distraught when Peter doesn't show up to her father's funeral, and soon finds out of her father's request of Peter. The bullies and everyone at school now knows Peter Parker is Spider-Man and loves him for it. Peter ends up beinglate for class where he sits behind Gwen. Peter promises the teacher he won't be late again and the teacher responds with, "Mr. Parker, don't make promises you can't keep", and so Peter says in Gwen's ear, "Yeah, but those are the best kind". Gwen smiles. Fade to black.

This movie was full of humor and wit. Andrew Garfield perfectly embodies Peter Parker and his science genius mind. Emma Stone played a very comical and cute girl-in-love, Gwen Stacy. The movie was ful of love and science and bad guys. I give this movie eight out of ten stars because some of the action scenes where a little long, abd I was kind of wanting them to get to the point. Overall, though, the movie was fantastic. The Amazing Spider-Man is now in theatres.

Believe in Bieber's New Album

Posted on 12:41 by Unknown
Lately, I have been obsessed with all of the great summer movies coming out, but there is also great music being released for this summer. One of these releases is Justin Bieber's Believe. Now, you should know, I am not a Belieber, but I listened to the album out of curiousity. I had heard  "Boyfriend" (hasn't everyone?) and I thought it was okay, and better than any of his other songs up until that point. So I was pleasantly surprised by Believe. I was taken by how grown up he sounds on the album and how different the music is from anything he has currently done. He has many collaborations on the album including "Right Here" featuring Drake, "Beauty And A Beat" featuring Nicki Minaj, "All Around The World" featuring Ludacris, "As Long As You Love Me" featuring Big Sean, and my favorite track on the album, "Fairytale" featuring another more mature sounding star, Jaden Smith, who also collaborated with the Biebs on the song "Never Say Never" which was featured in Jaden's movie The Karate Kid. Also on this album are other romantic yet unexpected tracks from Bieber like "Thought Of You" which showcases Justin's interesting higher-range, "She Don't Like The Lights" which features the sounds of cameras flashing and basically talks about the difficulty of dating a person who doesn't want to be in the spotlight and wants nothing to do with his fame, and the namesake track "Believe" where he describes, in a nice acoustic ballad, how he wouldn't be where he is without his fans' support.  A song on this album that is getting a lot of hubbub for the Bieb's baby-daddy rumor, a song which is compared to Michael Jackson's "Billy Jean" because of the similar situation, is "Maria" where the Canadian popstar talks about the rumor that went around a couple months ago where a girl said she had given birth to Justin Bieber's son. In "Maria" he sets the record straight and tells his fans that he has never gotten anyone pregnant, much less this girl, who is just focused the publicity and getting his money. Overall, Bieb's new album is not too shabby, and definitely not what you would have expected from him. If he continues down this path and keeps evolving as an artist, he might have one more Belieber on his hands...
Justin Bieber's Believe is in stores now.

Summer Movie Review: Rock of Ages

Posted on 17:40 by Unknown
Yesterday, I went and saw Rock of Ages.
It. Blew. My. Mind.
It was seriously ah-mazing. Anyway, some people have reviewed Rock of Ages and said it was bad. For the record, definitely not true. I was just accompanying a couple friends and didn't think heads or tails of this movie beforehand, other than I might not like it. Man, was I wrong. The plotline is a little cheesy. I mean it's a star-studded movie about all these characters who have a different lifestyle that somehow revolves around rock 'n roll. Drew (Diego Boneta) works at a club called the Bourbon Room waiting tables and serving beer. He aspires to be like Stacee Jaxx (Tom Cruise), rockstar/lead singer of the fictional band, Arsenal. Then there is Sherrie (Julianne Hough), the girl from Oklahoma who moves to L.A. to become a rockstar. Dennis (Alec Baldwin) is the owner of the rock 'n roll club the Bourbon Room and Lonny (Russell Brand) is a close friend of Dennis's and also an employee at the Bourbon Room. Constance Sack (Malin Ackerman) is a reporter for Rolling Stone magazine and also plays Stacee Jaxx love interest. Lastly, is Patricia Whitmore who is the mayor's wife and is trying to stop rock 'n roll and shut down the Bourbon Room. Yes, some of the plot is cliche. On the other hand, the acting was all very good, the singing and music was overall great, although a little broadway sounding at some points, but the story really showcases the lifestyle of rock 'n roll and power rock 'n roll has over all of us.

Rock of Ages is a brilliant movie. One of my favorite aspects of the movie is that they use the songs so perfectly to describe the situation a character is in. Sherrie and Drew sing "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" by Poison when they break -up. The rockers sing "We Built This City" by Starship while the Church-goers and Patricia Whitmore protest against the Bourbon Room, and rock 'n roll in general, singing "We're Not Gonna Take It" by Twisted Sister. I also really loved Tom Cruise as Stacee Jaxx. I thought he did a fantastic job with the drunk, sleep-til-noon, heartbroken, and misunderstood rockstar. I also was really drawn to the relationship between Stacee Jaxx and Constance Sack. Constance meets Stacee before his final performance with his band, Arsenal, before he debuts his solo career, in his dressing room at The Bourbon Room. She is reporting for the cover story of Rolling Stone and is told by Stacee that she has five minutes to conduct this interview. After he wastes away the interview, giving answers he assumes his fans want to hear, and not what he necessarily believes, Constance tells him how unprofessional he is, and how his music is less than it used to be because his heart isn't in it like it was before. This is when Stacee explains how lonely it is to be a rockstar and we, the audience, eventually learn that to be a rockstar one must focus more on sex then love, and so rockstars are generally heartbroken. However, Constance really makes Stacee reconsider things and he ends up falling in love with her and having a family together. I only have one question, though: Where can I get a rockstar? Anyway, Rock of Ages is in theatres now. Really, it is worth the $8.50 ticket.

Summer Movie Review: Snow White and the Huntsman

Posted on 09:11 by Unknown
There are so many great movies coming out this summer! From The Amazing Spider-Man to Rock of Ages, there is sure to be one to fit your fancy. Yesterday, I went to see Snow White and the Huntsman with a friend. Needless to say, we were excited to see this movie. However, that excitement didn't last long. Snow White was less exciting than I had gathered it would be.

The beginning was good because it starts off with some backstory. Of course, this backstory is the classic fairytale we know and love. You know, the one were Snow White is born with lips red as a rose, skin white as snow, and hair black as night. Then, the princess's mother dies and her father falls in love with a commoner who ends up killing him, and Snow White (Kristen Stewart) is imprisoned in the North Tower of the castle in the kingdom her evil stepmother (Charlize Theron) and queen reigns over. Snow White lives in this dungoen until her eighteenth birthday, when she becomes fairest of the land. However, Snow White sneeks out before the queen came have her. Like the Disney movie, a huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) comes to collect Snow White and her still-beating heart in the Dark Forest. The huntsman lets Snow White go when he realizes that the queen will not be keeping up her end of the deal. Queen Ravena and the huntsman had made a deal that if he captured Snow White and brought her back to the Queen, the Queen would bring the huntsman's late wife back from the grave. The huntsman soon realizes this was a lie and lets Snow White go. This is where the movie becomes lackluster. It was a lot of wandering around in forests and a lot of running away from the queen, and in that way, lost some of the idea of the story. During this time Snow White and the huntsman meet the dwarfs. Still, uneventful. It isn't until we near the end that things become interesting again. On her journey through the forest, Snow White meets a prince and he is very into her and will do just about anything for her. However, in the one of the last forest scenes, Queen Ravena is disguised as him and presents the princess with the infamous poisoned apple. You know what comes next: Snow White is then dead until true loves kiss can reawaken her from this eternal slumber. The prince tries to kiss her, but, unlike the classic fairytale, she does not wake. Then the huntsman has a moment alone with the sleeping princess and pours his heart out to her about how he has not felt a love like hers since his late wife. Then he kisses her and walks out of the room. In a few moments time, the princess awakes (Cue Awws). SPOILER ALERT! As predicted, Snow White kills Queen Ravena and then is crowned the new queen and the land lives happily ever after. As for the huntsman, it is assumed he and Snow White fell in love. At least that's what I gathered.

So maybe it doesn't sound that boring, but there was a good hour where they were just running through forests. To be fair, the actors and actresses in this movie were very good. Charlize Theron was darkly captivating as the evil queen Ravena. Kristen Stewart turned a pretty princess into a warrior leader and her accent was much better than I had anticipated. For the record, Kristen Stewart is much better in this movie than Twilight. Chris Hemsworth rounded out this immensely talented trio and was very convincing as a scary huntsman turned protective and trustworthy soldier. I honestly think the story was what got them into trouble, not the acting. I would give this movie a 3.5 out of 5 stars for the brilliant acting, the amazing costumes and sets and the beginning and end of the story, which was interesting. Would I recommend it? Not sure. I would say if you want to see it then do, but if you were uninterested before, you'll probably still be as uninterested after.

MTV Movie Awards Top Five Style Stars

Posted on 08:58 by Unknown
I am fully aware that the MTV Movie Awards was two weeks ago, but I don't think it's ever to late to go over the best-dressed. Since my last post was exhaustingly long, I'll try to make this one a lot shorter. Here are my top five looks from the Movie Awards.
#5. Shailene Woodley in a sexy business-y Stella McCartney jumpsuit
#4. Elizabeth Banks in a spiderweb-like Elie Saab jumpsuit... apparently jumpsuits were a common trend at the Movie Awards
#3. Holland Roden in a sexy red Mandalay mini-dress with a lace overlay
#2. Emma Watson in a water pattern minidress by Brood

#1. Obviously, my number one pick has to be the lovely Emma Stone. She nailed the entire look from her black and white Martin Grant dress to her romantic chignon and playful pink lipstick. She is not only our latest celebrity obsession, but also  the MTV Movie Awards most stylish in our book.

Emma Stone is an "Easy A"-lister

Posted on 19:25 by Unknown

Easy A has been on what feels like all the movie channels today, so I thought we should discuss how much we love Easy A and Emma Stone. If, for some reason, you have been living in a cave your whole life or have some weird dislike for romantic(ish) comedies, then I'll tell you what you need to know regarding this movie. Easy A is a movie depicting the strange and somewhat relatable life of a teenage girl who lives in California named Olive Penderghast.
Olive is a good student and is, for the most part, blending in when it comes to her high school status. However, this comfortable invisibility is shattered when she lies to her best friend Rhiannon (Alyson Michalka) about how she had sex with a date over the weekend. This is totally made up, seeing as she actually spent her weekend singing "Pocketful of Sunshine" by Natasha Bedingfield and told Rhi how she had a date over the weekend so Olive originally wouldn't have to spend the weekend camping with her overdramatic BFF and her That So '70s parents. This rumor was found out by the (very cliched) Bible thumper Marianne Bryan (Amanda Bynes). The rumor of Olive's one-night stand spreads fast.In her literature class, Olive finds herself in a quarrel with another girl, which lands Olive in the principal's office. The next day, she serves detention with an openly gay peer named Brandon (Dan Byrd) with whom she discusses how to avoid being bullied for his sexual orientation by saying he had sex with a girl. The two end up at popular girl Melody Bostik's party where the slip away and pretend to hook-up. Much like real-life,  Brandon is deemed a sex-god, while Olive is now the school "super slut".  After more rumors begin to circulate about Olive's hook-ups, which we know are fake, things take a "turn for the scandalous". The literature teacher, Mr. Griffith, is making the class read The Scarlett Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne. So because Olive doesn't do anything "half-assed", she buys sexy lingerie-inspired outfits that she embroiders a red A on. Then throughout the duration of the movie, Olive solicits sex for money, sort of. Actually no. Not at all. She solicits the idea that one has had sex with her for money. Yet, Olive is still a virgin. In the midst of all this, she has her sights set on the school mascot himself, Todd. Todd is one of the few people who believes that Olive really isn't a slut. So at the end of the movie you find out that the whole film was basically a webcast Olive made to tell her peers that she didn't really sleep with anyone and that they were all rumors. And then Olive and Todd ride away on a lawnmower like they do in an '80s movie. The movie is funny, endearing, and has moments that everyone can relate to. I give a lot of this film's comedic credit to Emma Stone who plays the funny, quirky, creative, and relatively average California girl Olive Penderghast.
Emma Stone has hit the landmine in Hollywood lately. She started acting as a child and had super small roles to begin with like the voice of Ivana Tipton on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and Diane on Malcolm in the Middle. Her résumé is quite bulky including performances as Jules in Superbad alongside Jonah Hill, Michael Cera, and Seth Rogen, The House Bunny, Friends with Benefits alongside Mila Kunis, Justin Timberlake, and Andy Samberg, Crazy, Stupid, Love with Steve Carrell and Ryan Gosling, The Help, and the newly released and highly anticipated The Amazing Spider-Man where Stone will star alongside her real-life BF Andrew Garfield.
Stone will be in two movies that have yet to release trailers, seeing as they are in the final stages of production, Red Band and The Croods. She will also be in the upcoming movie Gangster Squad, in theatres September 7th this year, along with Sean Penn, Josh Broslin, and Ryan Gosling (...yet again). Speaking of her reoccuring co-star, they have also been talked about to play the leads in the film adaptation of the notoriously naughty novel Fifty Shades of Grey. I would also like to mention that Emma recieved the Trailblazer Award at this last week's MTV Movie Awards, where she looked absolutley XOXO-worthy. One might find a picture below. That's all for now. Until next time.

Kristen Stewart: The Unconvetional Fashion Star

Posted on 08:39 by Unknown

From Bella Swan in the Twilight Series to the redefined princess in Snow White and the Huntsman, Kristen Stewart is everywhere. Stewart is a chill person, not interested in the fame, but more the art of movies. She recently did an interview for Elle magazine, where Stewart and the interviewer where in a book store and Stewart had seemingly read every book in stock and had picked out which role she would most enjoy playing in the movie adaptations. More than that, Stewart has risen as a fashion star. One of my personal favorites was the ensemble she wore to the premiere of Snow White and the Huntsman. She wore a black blazer, a white shirt, and a black mini skirt. I also really liked her spread in Elle, in which Kristen posed a both a man and a woman together in multiple shots. I have compiled some of my favorite fashion moments from Kristen Stewart below. Enjoy! Until next time.

Travel the World Through Chocolate

Posted on 07:12 by Unknown
Vosges Haut Chocolate is an up-and-coming chocolate boutique. With shops around the country in cities like Chicago and Las Vegas, they are sure making a hit with their unique flavor combinations. Their slogan is "Travel the World Through Chocolate", which is exactly what they do. They have innovative flavors like Bacon Caramel Toffee and and the Smoke & Stout Caramel Bar. However, they also like to experiment with different regions flavors. Some of these brainchilds include the Amalfi Bar which has lemon zest and pink peppercorns in a white chocolate bar, and the Couture Cocoa Sampler which features flavors like lavender-infused La Parisienne, spicy mexican  Aztec Elixir, and the classic, vanilla bean- infused Bianca. No matter where you would like to go in the world, Vosges Haut Chocolate will get you there before you can even buy your plane ticket.

Movie Night: Midnight in Paris

Posted on 21:42 by Unknown
If you've ever wished to venture into romantic 1920s Paris, then Midnight in Paris is the movie for you. Midnight in Paris is set in modern-day Paris, France, where Gil Pender (Owen Wilson) travels to Paris on a vacation with his fiancee, Inez (Rachel McAdams) and her parents. Gil is a Hollywood screenwriter struggling to write a novel. When the clock strikes midnight, Gil is transported back to 1920s Paris. Here he meets art and litertaure heavyweights like Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald, Pablo Picasso, and Ernest Hemingway. He gets feedback on how to make his novel a hit, while also falling in love with Picasso's mistress, Adriana who longs to live the 1890s. However, in his time travels, he learns that no matter what time period you think you would like better, it will soon become the unsatisfying present you were trying to run away from.

I liked this movie because it was a very intriguing idea for a story. I like how it focuses on art and literature when there was an artisanal quality that many novels and such don't have today. I thought it was an creative yet classic story with a captivating plot and a romantic undertone. I would recommend this movie if you are wanting something inspirational and something romantic. Ah, doux mystére d'amour.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Confusion?

Posted on 15:19 by Unknown
It's actually a funny story, how I came to love Sherlock Homes. I saw the Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law movie when it came out a couple years ago, but I really didn't want to see it. I was convinced I wouldn't like it, but I LOVED it. So naturally, I wanted to see the sequel. I had high expectations for Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. However, it was...confusing? Confusing. It was a more complex story line than I had expected. There were consistent themes throughout the movie and, as always, had the ever- entertaining British dry humor. I kept finding the common theme of chess, which is I find intriguing in the context of a mystery film. I really do want to like this film as much as the first, so the smart solution would be to go see the movie again...which in fact I will be doing today. Until I figure out my feelings in regards to A Game of Shadows, I guess that's all for now.
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows is in theatres now.
